what exactly is colic? Is it just wanna the baby is fussy and crying or what?

I have been around many baby’s and newborns I’ve never been around a baby with colic some insight please?

my six month old has a swollen gum, with a white line in it (looks like the tooth is near the surface).

he has been having very runny and gassy bowel motions, two a day. And has been bringing up milk after his bottles, which he doesn’t normally do.

he is sleepy, cuddly, happy, playful.
he is having hot flushes but no temperatures.
he has cut back the amount drunk from each bottle also.
Normally he has 240ml per bottle, now he only wants 60ml-180ml.

First, let me tell you this is something I witnessed, not something I did!

A mother of a teething 6mo old put a few drops of liquor/wiskey (I didn’t see what it was exactly) to help her sleep. She said that she has had a miserable time napping since starting to teeth and no traditional method of relief has helped. If her daughter doesn’t nap, she is beyond unbearable, so she says, and the alcohol is for all of their sanity. Baby gets needed sleep and relief from pain, parents get a break from the crying and fussing and can recharge.
